'MultiVersus' Reveals Batman and Superman Gameplay Footage

Basketball player and real human being LeBron James also joined the roster as part of the open beta launch. While there's not an exact date attached to the game's launch, "MultiVersus" will be released at some point in 2022 on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC. It's worth noting that the game has not been announced for Nintendo Switch, so despite being a "Super Smash Bros." clone, "MultiVersus" won't be directly competing with the popular fighter on Nintendo's platform. Fans who are already chomping at the bit to dive into the new game can sign up for playtests on the official "MultiVersus" website. "MultiVersus" is going to be a free-to-play title, with cross-play and cross-progression across all the platforms it is releasing on.

MultiVersus features many ways to play, but the primary focus is onfast-paced, 2v2battles. The result is that characters and combos were created with this in mind, and doubles battles are truly amazing. That being said, MultiVersus handles 1v1 matches and free-for-alls quite well, and they feel equally as rounded out as 2v2.

His main special attacks allow him to also charge up powerful hits while also having the ground and air covered. The second thing we know about its release is that it will be available on PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Series X/S, and on PC. This is straight from the website’s mouth, and they also confirm that the game will have cross-play. This means that players with different consoles can still play with each other.

We know you expected Batman to be a top-tier character in MultiVersus, but The Dark Knight is really really strong right now. This is down to his high mobility gained from his Bat-Grapple, which can be spammed and repeated. Let’s start off by talking a little bit about the best of the best – right now, anyway. Alright, without further ado, here’s what our take on a MultiVersus tier list is looking like right now. Characters from DC Comics, Hanna-Barbera, and Cartoon Network are confirmed to be in the game. This includes Batman and Superman, Shaggy and Velma, and Garnet and Steven Universe.

If you want to start smashing in MultiVersus early, though, the open beta begins on July 26. During the alpha test, we were extremely pleased with just how well the game played when we got our hands on it. The most exciting aspects are the ways the game differs from its obvious inspirations, such as the previously mentioned classes and characters having moves that are designed specifically to be used to support teammates. Other confirmed MultiVersus gameplay modes include 1v1 battles and 4-player 'free for alls'. Those special attacks do provide some incredibly valuable perks like damaging enemies repeatedly and electrifying them. But, when comparing those attacks with the raw strength you get from other characters, Reindog, definitely doesn’t meet the mark right now.

As a free-to-play title, monetization is to be expected in MultiVersus—in the form of Gold, the freemium currency, and Gleamium, the premium currency. While you can unlock all characters with Gold, the rate at which you earn Gold is incredibly slow, and you will need to grind. Nearly everything else is purchased multiversus gameplay leak using Gleamium, but characters can also be bought with this. MultiVersus will go into Open Beta in July on PlayStation and Xbox Consoles as well as PC, including cross-play support. It’s available to play right now in open beta format on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC. However, with the arrival of the vulgar duo comes the official full release of the game with Season 1.

Publisher Game Informer has shared two gameplay videos from the upcoming fighting game in which we can see Harley Quinn and Batman. Its launch on Steam was the most successful for a WB Games title, and also the biggest fighting game ever released. Complicating these perks further is that they can stack if your partner uses them, too.
